Corrosion Under Insulation Inspection Services
Corrosion under Insulation (CUI) is the corrosion of external surfaces of metal components under thermal insulation layer. CUI is a serious problem which causes many surprise failures and may lead to loss of containment and fire hazards. CUI is caused on existing insulated metal surfaces mostly due to exposure to mist, steam vents, deluge systems, process spills, gap in insulation cladding leading to water ingress, failure of sealing between cladding sheets, poor insulation finish at difficult geometries, physical damage to insulation cladding due to foot traffic, open inspection pockets etc. We provide inspection services for existing insulation systems and have helped our clients in identifying many CUI prone failure well before time.
